Middie’s background includes coming from a large Irish family, residency in several countries, overseas military service with the U.S. Air Force, a career government position, founding an award winning sales and marketing company, and 16 years in the real estate business.

After living in Europe and Mexico, he speaks conversational French, German, and Spanish.   

His hobbies include taking long bicycle rides on the Mississippi River levee bike path, music, writing, cars, motorcycles, and cooking.

His most recent civic activity was acting as the Master of Ceremonies for the Ogden Museum’s, Ogden After Hours musical performances.  He was previously a board member of The Boys & Girls Club, The New Orleans Friends of Music, and an eight year volunteer Jazz DJ on WWOZ.  

After living in Uptown New Orleans for 18 years, he and his native New Orleanian wife, Wanda, an jewelry artist, have recently moved to a cozy home that’s steps from the levee in Harahan.
